THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) will resume its "Operation Baklas" or dismantling of prohibited campaign materials on Friday, the start of the official 45-day campaign period for candidates for local positions in the May 9 polls.

"By then, all candidates for district congressman, governor and vice governor down to city and municipal councilors will be covered already by Comelec's regulation on allowable campaign materials," Comelec Commissioner George Garcia said on Tuesday.
