MORE than 2,000 families were affected by waist- to chest-deep floods in Davao City on Wednesday night due to heavy rains caused by the low pressure area (LPA) affecting Visayas and Mindanao.

At least 11 villages situated near the Davao River were submerged in floodwaters in the city that led to the evacuation of 2,064 families or 6,931 individuals, according to reports.
