THE Department of Agriculture (DA) assured that it is doubling its efforts to assist the onion growers in Occidental Mindoro suffering from the plummeting farm gate price of their produce that has now reached P12 to P15 per kilo from P42 per kilo a year ago.

In a statement, the DA Mimaropa explained that the local storage cannot accommodate the big surplus that resulted to stop buying operations of local traders.
