THE Department of Health (DoH) paid tribute to Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago "Chito" Sta. Romana, who passed away on Tuesday in Anhui, China at the age of 74.
Sta. Romana was pivotal in negotiations between the Chinese government and Chinese vaccine manufacturer Sinovac Biotech, enabling the country to procure the vaccines and deliver them in March 2021.
