THE Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has launched a total of 21 school-based urban agriculture gardens in Caloocan City and Quezon City in the first quarter of the year, backing the national efforts to promote urban and peri-urban agriculture.

The said academic institutions consisted of primary and secondary schools. The school urban agriculture gardens were made possible by the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program under the Department of Education Memorandum 293, Series of 2007, and the School Inside a Garden launched upon the issuance of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports Memorandum 77, Series of 1995.
