BEIJING: Amid the headwinds brought by Covid-19 outbreaks across China, the government has taken countermeasures to assist manufacturing companies in coping with the impact of the public health crisis.

Tax authorities have deferred 333.5 billion yuan (about $50.4 billion) in taxes and fees for micro, small- and medium-sized manufacturing firms in the first quarter, and extended the deadline for tax payment by another six months.
