THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Wednesday that it will file charges against five individuals for allegedly peddling fake news on social media that tarnished the agency's integrity and credibility ahead of the May 9 elections.

"Last week, I referred to the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) five instances which really undermined the integrity and credibility of our electoral process," Comelec Commissioner George Garcia said.
