THE United States Agency for International Development (USAid) has launched a technology-based Beginning Reading Program for learners in Cotabato City and Maguindanao, two areas under the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The program which uses tablets and Learn Kernels, or low-cost electronic tablets that can be used without Wi-Fi, was launched through USAid's ABC+: Advancing Basic Education in the Philippines and All Children Reading-Philippines projects, and the Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE).
