PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has issued an Executive Order (EO) mandating the adoption of digital and mobile payment systems for government collections and disbursements.
Signed last May 12, EO 170 directs all departments, agencies, and instrumentalities of the government, including state universities and colleges and government-owned or -controlled corporations as well as local government units to adopt digital payments for their transactions.
