THE Gilas Pilipinas Women's squad kickstarted its title defense with a 93-77 win over Indonesia in the 31st Southeast Asian Games women's basketball tournament at the Thanh Tri Gymnasium in Vietnam on Monday.
After a nip-and-tuck battle in the first half that ended at 40-38, the Filipinos came out strong in the third quarter to outgun the Indonesians and take a 72-57 lead heading into the final period.
