BEIJING: It is time for the United States to discard the additional tariffs imposed by the administration of former president Donald Trump on Chinese products, as these have soured business ties between Beijing and Washington and exacted a toll on American businesses and consumers.

"Four years on, the [US-China] trade war is still hurting US consumers and companies, and forcing supply-chain workarounds that [made] trade more complex and vulnerable," Christopher Tang, professor of supply chain management at the University of California in Los Angeles' Anderson School of Management, said in a recent South China Morning Post article.
