VIETNAM: Vanessa Sarno. Remember this name.
She just won the weightlifting gold medal in the Vietnam Southeast Asian Games in the 71-kg category where she broke all three records in snatch, clean and jerk and total lift to help the beleaguered Philippine team from falling to fifth place in the overall standings. Vanessa is only 18 years old. She is from Bohol and also the current World Juniors Champion, Asian Juniors champion as well as Asian Championship gold medalist.
