(UPDATE) THE Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday bypassed -- for lack of quorum -- the ad interim appointments of five officials to three constitutional bodies.

The CA was expected to hold a caucus today -- the last day of Congress' session -- to vote on whether President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. should be given the free hand to pick new officials to the Commission in Elections (Comelec), Commission on Audit (CoA), and Civil Service Commission (CSC).
