THE Associated Marine Officers and Seamen's Union of the Philippines (Amosup) commends the decision of the Joint Maritime Commission (JMC) of the International Labor Organization (ILO) to raise the minimum monthly basic wage for able seafarers (AB) starting in 2023.

The subcommittee on wages of seafarers of the ILO agreed last month to increase the minimum monthly basic wage for able seafarers in the next three years as follows:
