THE Department of Science and Technology (DoST) has released a P15.95 million financial assistance to Bioassets Veterinary Research and Diagnostic Laboratory for the development of test kits and vaccines for African swine fever (ASF).

Science and Technology Undersecretary Dr. Rowena Cristina Guevara said in a Laging Handa public briefing on Wednesday that the project, with the help of returning Filipino scientists, aims to mitigate the impact of ASF among local hog growers who were reeling from lost revenue due to culling of infected livestock.
