THE first quarter of 2022 survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed that 12.2 percent of Filipino families experienced involuntary hunger at least once in the past three months.

The SWS defined involuntary hunger as being hungry and not having to eat, and an estimated 3.1 million Filipino families experienced it.
