SEN. Leila de Lima on Sunday said she is grateful to the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) for allowing her to go on a medical furlough for a major surgery.

De Lima was detained in February 2017 at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center on drug charges. She has denied the complaint, saying it was politically motivated, being a critic of the Duterte administration's war on drugs.
