IN partnership with Runrio Inc., the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) celebrated Independence Day 2022 with a bang as it held the culminating event of the Virtual Million Volunteer Run 6 (MVR 6) Virtual Bike and Run Edition on June 12, 2022.

Over 3,000 cyclists and bikers from different cities nationwide shared their time, skills and resources to raise funds and support the PRC's programs against Covid -19.

As a non-competitive event, the MVR 6 allowed the participants to finish their selected categories and follow their own pace, time, distance and venue.

Lucky winners of the raffle prizes received massage chairs, mountain bikes, a laptop, tablets, Airpods, Fitbits and cash.

The virtual MVR 6 was held instead of the originally planned face-to-face program in response to the government's efforts to keep the public safe against the new Covid-19 subvariants detected in the National Capital Region, Palawan and Baguio City.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng mga participants at volunteers na nakilahok sa ating virtual MVR 6. Hinihikayat ko rin ang ating mga participants na patuloy na makiisa sa Red Cross sa pagbibigay serbisyo nito sa lahat ng mga nangangailangan, lalung-lalo ngayong panahon ng pandemya (I thank all the participants and volunteers who participated in our virtual MVR 6. I also encourage our participants to continue to join the Red Cross in providing its services to all those in need, especially in this time of pandemic,)" PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon said.

The PRC continues to deliver its Covid-19 response through its vaccination programs, including the deployment of Bakuna Buses to different areas in the Philippines.
