Last two world champions standing

WITH Nonito Donaire Jr. yielding his World Boxing Council (WBC) bantamweight title to Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue and John Riel Casimero being stripped of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) crown due to weight issues, the country has been left with two world boxing champions in WBC featherweight king Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo and International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight champ Rene Mark Cuarto.

You can say that Magsayo, 24-0 with 16 knockouts, has been thrust into the spotlight, tasked to carry the mantle for Philippine pro boxing with Manny Pacquiao retired, Donaire dethroned and likely also headed to the retirement pasture, and Casimero in limbo.
