BEIJING: Factory activities in China breached the expansion mark in June after posting three straight months of contraction, the government reported on Thursday, indicating that the world's second-largest economy is on a clear path to recovery.

Data from the East Asian country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that the purchasing managers' index (PMI) for the manufacturing sector improved to 50.2 last month from 49.6 in May.
