THE Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) on Wednesday said the staggered power rate hike worth P22.64 billion allowed by the Supreme Court will be collected by the company but will go straight to power generators.
In its decision released on Monday, the Supreme Court upheld the 2013 order of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), which allowed Meralco to implement a staggered power rate hike amounting to P22.64 billion.
