(UPDATE) THE Sandiganbayan's Second Division has convicted retired Maj. Gen. Carlos Garcia of direct bribery.
In a decision promulgated on July 5, 2022, the court sentenced him to four years and two months up to eight years in prison. It also fined him P406,300,162 or three times the total value of the gifts he received when he retired.
