De la Peña bows out of public service

MEMORANDUM Circular 1 declared certain vacant positions in the government under the executive department, effective noontime of June 30, 2022. These included all presidential appointees whose appointments are classified as co-terminus with that of the chief executive.

As such, Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato "Boy" T. de la Peña bowed out of his long and illustrious career in public service. De la Peña has designated Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr. as the officer in charge (OIC) of the Department of Science and Technology (DoST), pending the appointment of a permanent department secretary.
