TOP officials of the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) on Saturday slammed former Health secretary and now Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin, acting Department of Health (DoH) Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, as well as two other infectious disease experts for apparently "trying to confuse President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. into believing that the 'banned' Dengvaxia vaccine is effective against dengue".

PAO chief Persida Rueda-Acosta and PAO Forensics Division head Dr. (lawyer) Erwin Erfe indirectly warned the Chief Executive to closely evaluate those being floated to be the next DoH secretary, including Garin, Vergeire, Dr. Rontgene Solante and Dr. Edsel Salvana, both infectious disease experts, saying "they were all close to pharmaceutical companies".
