OCTA Research urged President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to convene a Scientific Advisory Group to provide science and technology advice to the Chief Executive and national government, especially during emergencies.

In an interview with The Manila Times, OCTA Research fellow Ranjit Rye said that the proposed independent scientific group would be composed of the top natural and social scientists in the country selected by the President, including a representative from the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).
