The Instructional framework – Part 4

WE began this instructional framework series by describing the framework itself, which consists of instructional models, the broadest teaching approaches used to anchor the teaching learning process. The four more popular are the information processing, relational, social interaction and personal models. There are instructional strategies appropriate for particular models for a particular lesson. Similarly, there are different instructional methods that match various instructional strategies. To these methods are specific instructional skills that complete the teaching plan. In sum, the teaching framework for a specific lesson consists of an instructional model, suitable strategies, methods appropriate to the strategy used and finally, the necessary instructional skills. Today, we discuss the indirect instruction strategies anchored on the information processing model, the various instructional methods and skills.
