Rebel nabbed in South Cotabato

GOVERNMENT troops captured a communist rebel and confiscated the insurgent's two firearms during an operation in T'boli town, South Cotabato, the Philippine Army (PA) said Tuesday.

Lt. Col. Zandro Alvez, PA 5th Special Forces Battalion commander, said an M16 rifle and a caliber.38 revolver were seized from alias Bambam, a member of Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army (CPP-NPA) under the Guerilla Front Musa, at his safe house in Laconon village of the same town Monday afternoon.
