SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga: An inception workshop that aims at strengthening benefit-sharing and conservation of the country's endemic flora in Central Luzon was conducted recently by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 3, along with experts from the Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

DENR Region 3 said on Saturday that the workshop, "Implementing the National Framework on Access and Benefit Sharing of Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge in the Philippines," served as an avenue to establish strategic collaboration and partnerships among local government units, the Department of Agriculture, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, the Department of Science and Technology, the National Economic and Development Authority, the Department of Health, Pharmalytics Corp., Herbanext Laboratories Inc., Indigenous peoples, and other key stakeholders who are both beneficiaries and advocates of the project's full implementation in Region 3 for the next six years.
