LAST month, we released the results of Deloitte's 2022 Gen Z and Millennial survey, which includes results specific to the Philippines. Half of the Filipino Generation Zs, now between the ages of 19 and 27, and more than 80 percent of the Filipino millennials (between 28 and 39 years old) in the survey were employed. Nearly a quarter of the Gen Zers and 63 percent of the millennials were already parents. If you think about it, some of these survey participants could be your work colleagues. Many of them were not doing well.

One of the more concerning findings from this year's survey is the growing share of young workers who report feeling stressed or burned out. More Filipino millennials (48 percent) and Generation Zs (68 percent) reported feeling anxious or stressed, or most of the time compared to their global peers (38 percent of global millennials and 46 percent of global Generation Zs). And their stressors consisted of complex issues that can't be addressed in one town hall meeting or team-building activity: long-term financial future, mental health, day-to-day finances.
