A magnitude 5.5 earthquake rocked Davao del Sur on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake, tectonic in origin, occurred at 4:23 p.m. some 12 kilometers north-west of the town of Magsaysay.
