THE Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) went up on Monday by 38.18 points, closing at 6,737.84.
Michael Ricafort, chief economist at Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., said the PSEi gained for the sixth straight day after June OFW (overseas Filipino workers) remittances data registered a 4.4-percent increase totaling $2.76 billion, the highest OFW US dollar remittance amount in six months.
