Govt to import white onions only – DA official

THIS refers to the article written by Bella Cariaso in The Manila Times on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, titled "Government to import onions." It is stated there that "Agriculture undersecretary Kristine Evangelista said the government is eyeing the importation of both red onions and white onions to address the shortage." In another article, she wrote a P10 price increase of rice based on DA monitoring. Upon checking, our price monitoring has not monitored such increase.

May I just correct that I never said that government is eyeing the importation of both red onions and white onions but only white onions. I believe in the credibility of The Manila Times, and hoping wrong information will not find its way to the publication.
