THERE is no need to amend the Constitution in attracting foreign direct investment as there are other ways to do it, a professor said during a Senate hearing on Charter change, on Friday.

"If you look at other World Bank reports, you just don't read one; you read many, right? "They talk about, when they say about foreign direct investments, they don't talk about limits and shares; they talk about why they're not coming in: labor, contracts, interconnection of the internet," Professor Katrina Monsod of the Ateneo de Manila University and Far Eastern University law schools told the Committee on Constitutional Amendments and Revision of Codes and Laws, which is reviewing the 1987 Constitution.
