THE National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) on Thursday said Philippine economy grew by 7.8 percent in the first semester of 2022.

"We see that, despite the uptick in [Covid-19] cases, first quarter performance was, as was 8.2 percent growth rate. And then for the second quarter, the economy grew by 7.4 percent," said NEDA Undersecretary Rosemarie Edillon during the 20th Development Policy Research Month Kick-off Forum.
