THE resolution filed in the Senate seeking the abolition of the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) due to questionable contracts is gaining support, but the chamber is still open to reforms in the agency.

In radio interviews on Sunday, Sen. Francis Tolentino said all government agencies and local government units must use their own Bids and Awards Committees instead of getting the services of the PS-DBM, while Sen. Ana Theresia "Risa" Hontiveros said the agency is a breeding ground for corruption.
