REAL estate developer Megaworld on Wednesday said it will open its second homegrown hotel within its township development The Mactan Newtown in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu by the fourth quarter of 2022. It will be the 12th hotel property of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts.
The 20-story Belmont Hotel Mactan will have 550 guest rooms and suites, composed of a mix of twin, queen, junior, executive and specially-abled suites. All rooms will be fully equipped with essential amenities, in-room electronic safety boxes and an overall wireless internet connection.
"Belmont Hotel Mactan will be our third Belmont Hotel property in the country. It is only about 15 minutes away from the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and will offer an unparalleled opportunity for families and travelers visiting Cebu either for business or leisure," Cleofe Albiso, Megaworld Hotels and Resorts managing director, said.
The new hotel will be situated just beside the Savoy Hotel Mactan along Newtown Boulevard and only a few minutes walk from the Mactan Newtown Beach. It will also be about a five-minute walk away from the Mactan Alfresco, a dining destination that hosts a variety of restaurants offering authentic Cebuano and other cuisines. Guests will also be able to enjoy cafés and bars such as the Belmont Café, Zabana Bar and Pool Bar.
Belmont Hotel, Mactan will offer an opening room rate priced at P3,800 net per night, inclusive of breakfast for two and access to its various facilities and amenities.

Megaworld Hotels and Resorts has already opened 11 hotel properties under six homegrown brands equivalent to 4,000 rooms: Richmonde Hotel (Ortigas, Eastwood City and Iloilo); Belmont Hotels (Newport City and Boracay); Savoy Hotels (Newport City, Boracay and Cebu); Twin Lakes Hotel (Tagaytay); Hotel Lucky Chinatown (Binondo, Manila); and Kingsford Hotel (Parañaque City).
