THE National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has tasked telecommunications companies (telcos) to send out text blasts that warn their subscribers against personalized text scams or smishing.
In a memorandum dated September 8, the NTC directed DITO Telecommunity, Globe Telecom and Smart Communications to send out warning messages to their subscribers from September 9 to September 15.
