JAKARTA: Indonesia is beefing up its coronavirus pandemic controls and tightening security on its resort island of Bali in preparation for the Group of 20 (G20) leaders' summit in mid-November.

This, as the number of new Covid-19 cases continues to rise in the Southeast Asian country, is fueled largely by the more transmissible Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants.
