WHAT our country has more than enough of are shortages. This seems to be the irony in our economy.

In the last couple of weeks, no less than the President was the chief problem solver for the shortage of sugar. Before the much publicized sugar shortages, there were the shortages of onions and garlic. After sugar, there was the shortage of salt and, more recently, of galunggong.
