IT could make for a most rare occasion for irrelevance: citing Ara Mina's P700,000 bridal gown in 2021 as a benchmark for what could turn out to be high-end corruption at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Of late, a story has been circulating in the grapevine that a high-ranking DPWH official has been attending simple government functions clad in what could give the handcrafted crystallized gown Ara Mina wore at her nuptials with Dave Almarinez two years ago a run for its money. Charlie Manalo carried the story in his recent Manila Times column in a most interesting manner:
"I am no expert in fashion and its high-level costs, but I just became curious when my source said one top-level official of the DPWH recently wore a gown worth P700,000 and it isn't even for a wedding, but for an official government function.
