LED by the Philippines, the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) pressed for greater cooperation with dialogue partners China, Japan and Korea (Asean+3) to improve workforce competitiveness and create more decent employment opportunities in the region.

Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said on Monday that the issue was raised with the labor ministers of China, Japan and Korea during the 20th Asean Plus Three Labor Ministers Meeting (ALMM+3) held on October 29 in Manila.
