A RECENTLY published study by Cambridge University has prompted calls to Pope Francis to reinstate the practice of "meatless Fridays" for the Catholic faithful around the world due to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions that would result. It is a unique take on an old tradition, but an eminently sensible idea, and it is encouraging that at least one Church leader here has enthusiastically embraced it.
