GOVERNMENT CENTER, Palo, Leyte: The Department of Public Works and Highways First Leyte District Engineering Office (DPWH-FLDEO) at Barangay Pawing here has admitted the abandonment by its private contractor of a school building project in Tanauan town since last year.

Ray Mate, DPWH-FLDEO officer in charge and assistant district engineer, over the weekend said the P11,198,297.48 school building project at Barangay Maribi in Tanauan has been abandoned by the contractor, JFR Construction, based in Catbalogan, Samar, and is said to be owned by Jojo Remegio.
