BACOLOD CITY: A subsidiary of San Miguel Corp. (SMC), Reliance Energy Development Inc. (REDI), was reported to have shelved its application for an environmental compliance certificate (ECC) for its planned liquified natural gas (LNG) power plant in San Carlos Ecozone.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson on Monday, November 21, said that the company has not officially informed the provincial government regarding its plans to drop the project. Nevertheless, the company's earlier plans to discontinue its planned coal plant might be a precedent.
