PNP to deploy civilian cops

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said that aside from the usual police force roaming the streets or deployed at public assistance desks, civilian or "secret" cops have also been deployed, especially in areas of convergence this Christmas season.

PNP spokesman Col. Jean Fajardo said this is to ensure that there will be no heightened criminal activities from pickpockets or holduppers who might victimize shoppers.
