AT least 16 local government units (LGUs) from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) were recognized for their disaster risk reduction and management initiatives, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Interior Secretary Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr. said the Gawad Kalasag awards were conferred during the 22nd National Gawad Kalasag Seal and Special Awards for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) and Humanitarian Assistance held in Cotabato City.
