Giving proposed sovereign wealth fund a fair hearing

IN principle, having a sovereign wealth fund is a good idea. It is a mechanism that would provide another source of funds for the national coffers. In addition to collecting new taxes or raising existing ones, the other ways by which government can generate funds is through external sources in the form either of official development assistance (ODA) or loans, or in selling or renting government properties. Government can also sell bonds to raise funds to finance government projects.
