THE Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has once again demonstrated awareness and concern for consumer welfare, this time by imposing a three-month suspension on the collection of the feed-in tariff allowance (FIT-All). And unlike the ERC's previous consumer-oriented decision — its denial of an unjustifiable rate hike petition by San Miguel Global Power and Meralco — this latest move does not have the power industry crying foul and accusing the regulator of trying to put them out of business.
