JAKARTA: Indonesian officials on Monday played down concerns about a new law criminalizing sex outside of marriage, saying foreign holidaymakers will not be charged as fears grow over the impact on the vital tourism sector.
The Southeast Asian country's legislature last week passed a measure approving jail terms of up to a year for anybody in Indonesia caught having sex outside of wedlock.
