THE Baltic and International Maritime Council (Bimco) said global container volumes in 2022 will end approximately 4 percent lower than last year and growth prospects for 2023 appear weak due to the sluggish global economy.

Bimco, the world's largest international shipping association, said the global economy is expected to end 6.2 percent higher in 2022 than in 2019, but "[g]rowth prospects for 2023 also appear weak due to weak prospects for global economic growth."
